Design approach: the goal is to block the inverter from street view, not enclose it, so this is a single bent 'privacy wing' that mounts perpendicular to the siding on the street side of the inverter.
• Material: 5052-H32 aluminum, .080 in, powder coated (match the gray siding).
• Size: 36 in tall, projects 12 in off the wall (the SolarEdge HD-Wave with safety switch is ~7.3 in deep, so this hides it at an angle from the sidewalk). 1.5 in wall flange, 0.75 in stiffening return on the free edge.
• Mounting: three keyholes in the wall flange (0.50 in head hole, 0.22 in slot). They're double-ended, so the same part hangs left- or right-handed just by flipping it over. Use #10 pan-head screws into studs or structural anchors.
• Clearance: place it at least 4 in from the side of the inverter. SolarEdge asks for 4 in on the sides, 4 in below and 8 in above, and an open wing keeps all of that airflow intact.
• Fabrication: flat pattern is about 14.0 x 36.0 in with two 90° bends, inside SendCutSend's bend limit (30 x 44) and powder-coat limit (30 x 36), so it can be ordered as one part straight from the STEP.
• Earlier idea we dropped: a full louvered shroud over the inverter. It worked, but needed three parts to stay within powder-coat size limits and was more than the job needs.
Dimensions are from SolarEdge's datasheet; confirm wall space and conduit runs on site before ordering.
